Three Cheers For Raleigh McDonald’s
Amanda Alpert was upset that a Raleigh, North Carolina McDonald’s had posted a sign saying “Merry Christmas. Jesus Is The Reason For The Season”; so Ms. Alpert complained to McDonald’s and was told that it was up to the business owner what she puts on the sign.
Three cheers to McDonald’s for supporting religious freedom in America!
If a business wants to post a sign saying “Happy Ramadan” or “Happy Kwanzaa” or “Happy Hanukkah” or whatever, that’s their choice. And I support their right to do so.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Thank you Amanda. I only saw Hanukkah signs but that didn’t and doesn’t bother me at all. He’s Jewish and I respect his right to celebrate Hanukkah to the exclusion of other faiths; I have even wished him Happy Hanukkah before
Tim, I just want you to clarify. Your Dr. has ONLY Hanukkah wishes in his office? I believe that was what you were saying, I hope I am wrong, because even as a Jew who celebrates that holiday, I find that wrong. That being my point of the sign at McDonald’s. I am sorry you felt as though I was trying to hide Jesus away. Christmas is the Celebration of your saviour, and I respect that belief you have and of course are entitlted to it; but I simply wanted to have the HOLIDAY SEASON celebrated, Christmas, Hannukah, Thanksgiving, New Years and Kwanzza. I am assuming that your Dr. is Jewish, if he only has Hanukkah greetings in his office, and that makes me feel shame for him. Thank you for your very thoughtful perspective. I wish you good blessings and a Wonderful Holiday Season.
My physician posts “Happy Hanukkah” signs in his office each year and I’ve never once thought of asking him to change it to be more “encompassing.”
When people get offended about Jesus and want to ‘hide’ him away, it hurts me; and I don’t want to go hurt another person by asking them to hide their faith. Just another perspective.
Happy Hanukkah Amanda and many blessings.
Funny how you left out the fact that I was asking for Tolerance ad Respect for THE COMMUNITY as a whole, not just Jews. I merely asked the sign be more encompassing of others, not just Christians, which it clearly was.
Deport her to isreal
yeah, good point; I should have been clearer. But if a business does decide to post a sign saying “Happy Holidays” its customers should talk with the business and try to get it to change the sign; if the business doesn’t want to change it then the customer has the option of not spending his/her money there and by all means they should let the business know that. In the end, it is up to the business what their signs say.
Is it OK if a business wants to put up a sign that says “Happy Holidays” then? Because that’s what I see a whole bunch of whining about.
