Plot To Assassinate ‘Dubya’ In Chile?

By Tim | November 27, 2004 | Tags: General |

WorldNetDaily revealed today—courtesy of Jack Wheeler at To The Point—what could have been a potential plot to assassinate President George W. Bush in Santiago, Chile during the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit:

WorldNetDaily—Wheeler tells a little-known story about a conflict between Bush’s security detail and Chile’s security over the latter’s refusal to have a metal-detector at a state dinner for the president. There is speculation, Wheeler points out, that Bush-loathing Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a chum of Fidel Castro, is somehow connected to the incident.

If Chilean President Ricardo Lagos and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez have teamed up to take on ‘Dubya’ then they have bitten off more than they can chew. You can rest assured that this challenge will not go unanswered. The United States has been quite concerned about the threat Hugo Chavez poses to the Northern and Southern hemispheres. This morning that concern seems rightly justified.

Update 11/27/2004 7:55pm:

Details are slowly being released about an assassination plot against President George W. Bush while he was visiting Cartagena, Columbia earlier this week:

Houston Chronicle—President Bush was targeted for assassination by Colombia’s biggest Marxist rebel group this week when he visited the Caribbean port city of Cartagena, a top Colombian official said today.

I’ll post more information as it comes available.
