Kartoon Karnage Kapers

Michelle Malkin has a good story this morning about the Lefts’s attack on bloggers publishing the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.

Michelle quotes an article written by Antonia Zerbisias in the Toronto Star. I noticed something a little peculiar in the story, here it is:

Toronto Star—No doubt, the Kartoon Karnage Kapers (italics mine) are inexcusable, and threaten to escalate into even more senseless death and destruction. That’s why the absolute glee with which this has been received by the online cons strikes me as so puzzling. Do they enjoy the blood sport of watching out-of-control Muslim mobs in the streets? …

Did you notice, “Kartoon Karnage Kapers” in the excerpt? KKK? I’m wondering if Ms. Zerbisias is subliminaly attempting to link bloggers publishing cartoons of the Prophet to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK)? ( On second thought, maybe that’s not what she intended. I’ll go get my coffee now).

If that’s what she intended, it’s foul. Most bloggers are simply reporting on an important story and exercising the right to freedom of the press and freedom of expression.

Just something to think about over coffee this morning.

On third thought, what she did was really sly. Spelling “Kartoon Karnage Kapers” with K’s (as in KKK) instead of C’s was a very slick way of saying that bloggers are viewing Muslim protests with racist preconceptions and the true meaning of the protests is going right over their heads. I am impressed. Anyone know what that technique is called?

Read her story again and think about how you feel as you read the “Kartoon Karnage Kapers” paragraph.
