CH-47 Down In Afghanistan

A CH-47 Chinook helicopter has crashed while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan near Asadabad in Kunar province. Nine crewmembers were onboard at the time of the crash. No word on casualties.

Combined Forces Afghanistan says all 10 servicemembers onboard the helicopter died in the crash.

All ten servicemembers were from Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division. God bless them and their families.

  • Chief Warrant Officer Christopher B. Donaldson, 28, Illinois
  • Chief Warrant Officer Eric W. Totten, 34, Texas
  • Lieutenant Colonel Joseph J. Fenty, 41, Florida
