kidnapping suspect at McCarron AirportTuesday afternoon, Las Vegas police confronted, tased, and shot a man that had kidnapped a young boy from a McCarron Airport gift shop. Police confronted the man as he led the child away with a knife to his throat. The man was only identified as a 25-year-old white man:

KLASTV—Officials say a man around 25 years old approached a woman with a child in a gift store located in an unsecured area of the airport just outside the A and B gates.

People ran for cover, as police shot at a man after he held a knife to a 4-year-old boy’s throat. Police say the suspect abducted the boy and tried to make a run for it.

That was enough to free the child but the incident was far from over. …

Good job Las Vegas P.D. But I wonder how a man with a knife passed through security? Aren’t airport shops usually in areas accessible only after passing a security check?
