Iran Captures British Sailors—New Iran Hostage Crisis?

Iranian forces have captured 15 British Sailors and Marines in the Persian Gulf. The personnel are assigned to HMS Cornwall:

BBC—Fifteen British Navy personnel have been captured at gunpoint by Iranian forces, the Ministry of Defence says.

The men were seized at 1030 local time when they boarded a boat in the Gulf, off the coast of Iraq, which they suspected was smuggling cars.

The Royal Navy said it was doing everything it could to secure the release of the sailors and marines who are based on HMS Cornwall. …

SKY News reports that the Sailors and Marines are believed to have been captured in the Shatt Al Arab waterway.

  1. To an extent, I agree. Iran needs to either produce evidence IMMEDIATELY that the troops were in their waters or return the soldiers IMMEDIATELY. Britons in the Shatt Al Arab Waterway pose no threat to Iran. If they refuse, Britain should have no qualms about retaliatory action!

  2. England should tell iran you have one day to release our troops or we will wipe tehran off the map,ive had enough of these people in iran. iran should be wiped off the face of thy earth.
