F-16 Launches MALD In Successful Test

miniature air launched decoy (MALD)A miniature air launched decoy (MALD) successfully completed a powered test flight after being launched from an F-16 over the Gulf of Mexico.

The MALD is designed to fly into hostile air space and stimulate an enemy air-defense response. MALD is being developed at Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Ariz. It is the system’s 17th successful test.
