Hurricane Katrina: Wal-Mart’s Finest Hour?

Was Walmart’s response in the face of looming disaster from Hurricane Katrina its finest hour? I believe so.

The National Post quotes Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott as Hurricane Katrina howled death and destruction in the Gulf:

“A lot of you are going to have to make decisions above your level,” was Scott’s message to his people. “Make the best decision that you can with the information that’s available to you at the time, and above all, do the right thing.”

“Do the right thing.” Awesome; wonderful; heartening. If only America’s leaders would do the same for their people.

    So what is with this new Walmart Spin Flux? This single article seems to be showing up everywhere. We owe much of our existance as a debtor nation to Walmart. Who are you trying to kid?
