Election 2008: Police Officer Throws 78-Year-Old Man To Ground At Obama Event

A big brave cop threw a 78-year-old man to the ground during a Barack Obama event in Greensboro, NC last Wednesday.

“Pop” is his nickname and he carries a sign that has a simple message:

“God Bless America! We Support Our Troops! They Give Their Today That We Might Have Our Tomorrow.”

I’m pleased to see that Michelle Malkin is using her influence to free Pop. Thanks.

Michelle Malkin has an update on Pop.

(Update 4/29/2008 1:52pm):

Well, it’s over now for Pop.

Jeri Rowe at the Greensboro News & Record writes:

District Attorney Doug Henderson dismissed the charge against Kohanowich — a misdemeanor assault on a government official. …

Catch up with Kohanowich, and he’ll tell you he would like for the city to apologize and cover his $2,500 in legal expenses. But don’t hold your breath. …

I know you aren’t rich Pop, so maybe Greensboro will get a conscience and pay your legal bill.

Best regards Pop.
