Nancy Pelosi Adds Scripture To God’s Word

By Tim | April 24, 2008 | Tags: , Northern America |

Michelle Malkin writes today about a Biblical scripture quoted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the Speaker’s blog.

Malkin quotes Pelosi as saying, “The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’ On this Earth Day, and every day, let us honor the earth and our future generations with a commitment to fight climate change.”

Malkin writes:

“Apparently, it’s a favorite verse of hers. She has used it in official statements on global warming, the budget, Martin Luther King Day, Christmas, and why she’s a Democrat.

“Dr. Claude Mariottini, an Old Testament scholar, noted on his blog last year and this year that no such Biblical verse exists.”

The late A.W. Tozer wrote, “The Prince [Jesus] is now rejected by world, Oh, they may admire Him, and quote Him, but He’s allowed no place in the world’s councils, and He is only a symbol of goodness before the world … .”

Speaker Pelosi has gone beyond those confines by creating new scripture and attributing it to God. But I sincerely hope that she’s just mistaken and will humbly correct her error.

    Mrs. Polosi,

Please advise where the scripture you quoted can be found in the old testament? I have read the Bible extensivly and have never read this verse.

Not saying it’s not there, just haven’t run across it.
