Little Girl Told She Should Be “Burned” For McCain T-Shirt

As part of a personal “experiment in political tolerance and diversity of opinion at her school in the liberal suburb of Oak Park,” 14-year-old Catherine Vogt dared to wear a “McCain Girl” T-Shirt to her school. What she heard should be a warning to Christians living in America.

Catherine Vogt reports that she received taunts saying she should be “burned” or “crucified.”

In church this morning, one of the hymns was about coming forth as gold. But what do American Christians know about being tried in the fire? Of being sifted by Satan? What do we know about it? Very little. But ask our brothers and sisters in foreign lands and they will quickly tell you about it. They know about the fire; they know about being sifted.

On my computer, I keep a picture of Ida Yarni Sambue, Theresia Morangke, and Alrfita Poliw as a way of remembering them and to remind me of the cost of following Christ. These young Christian schoolgirls were beheaded by fanatics in Indonesia. Let their memory tell you of the cost of following Christ.

O Christian, think you that you shall escape the fire?

O Christian, what will you do when the mob comes for you?

O Christian, what will you do when they want to burn you? To crucify you? To behead you? What will you do?

Something has happened to America. A pall has covered the land so thick that you can feel it.

Let us all come before God in prayer and worship Him. And when the fire is done, when the wind has blown the chaff, may gold remain, may a kernel of wheat remain to the glory of God and his beloved Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I will close for now with a quote from the Word of God:

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22.

Look unto me…
