Sikh Donation Denied By Mission Due To Turban

By Tim | November 21, 2008 | Tags: Northern America |

A local mission in Roanoke Rapids, NC refused to accept a donation by a Sikh man, because he refused to take off his turban in compliance with the missions headdress policy.

Despite the mission’s headdress policy, I’m having a little difficulty understanding why it insisted that he remove his turban. I mean, it’s not like he was wearing a John Deere tractor ball cap. Come on guys; the guy is a Sikh. Bad decision, bad.

I’ve read that this guy allegedly owns some topless bars. Is treating women as chattel permissible in Sikhism?
