NC Honeybees Suffering
NC honeybees are suffering in the extreme heat and dryness the state has been experiencing. Of course, that’s just my opinion, nothing scientific.
The reason I say so is that I’ve hardly seen any honeybees this year, until today. At lunch, I dumped some watermelon rinds on our compost pile. In the evening, I walked by to find the rinds covered in honeybees. They all looked young and lean. They no doubt were glad to have the water and sugar from the rinds and I was certainly glad to give it.
Drink up little bees…
