HMS Bounty Floundering

HMS Bounty is floundering at sea, 90 miles off Hatteras, NC. It’s crew has apparently abandoned ship.

One question: why was HMS Bounty at sea in a hurricane? Did they not receive warning early enough to get the ship to safety?

Hoping for the crew’s safe retrieval.

Update 10/29/2012 10:47am: The U.S. Coast reports rescuing 14 people and searching for two missing crew members.
