Hurricane Wilma has strengthened to a powerful Category Five hurricane.

A U.S. Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft reported that Wilma’s barometric pressure was 884mb; the lowest minimum pressure ever measured in the Atlantic basin, said the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Wilma has been making a northward turn that threatens Florida. The National Hurricane Center forecasts that Wilma will weaken as it makes a northeast turn.
