Protesters Attempt To Burn Down Raleigh GOP Headquarters

A group of protesters decided to vandalize the GOP headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina Friday night:

WRAL—Investigators at the scene found a partially burned, two-headed effigy in military fatigues. One head had the face of President Bush and the other the face of his failed Democratic challenger John Kerry.

They also found several spent fireworks, poster boards with slogans and spraypainted expletives on the walls. At least two windows were broken and police said it appeared that the vandals tried to put incendiary devices inside of the building.

North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Director Scott Falmlen issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the entire North Carolina Democratic Party, I condemn the vandalism last night at the NCGOP headquarters and the motivations behind it. We do not settle differences this way. That is what sets America a part from much of the world. Democracy is about voicing your views during the campaign and then at the ballot box. While all of us, in both parties, may be disappointed with some of the results, the kind of behavior exhibited last evening crossed way over the line. Those responsible have broken the law and should be fully prosecuted.”

Is it any wonder that a majority of Americans rejected the Democratic Party this election?
