The Washington Post reports this morning that a Blackwater USA guard tried to stop the shooting, resorting to pointing his own weapon at fellow guards:

Private military contractor Blackwater USA is under Federal investigation. Federal investigators are trying to determine if the firm shipped unlicensed automatic weapons and military goods to Iraq.
