Rep. Ron Klein Blasts Challenger’s Social Security Number To Voters

An outraged Allen West campaign announced this morning that Rep. Ron Klein has sent Allen West’s social security number to voters across Florida’s 22nd Congressional District.

Allen West was clearly upset, especially about risks to his family from the stunt. West said:

I’m not yet sure the potential damage that might come to my wife and me.

And it makes me sick to think of what could happen to my daughters.

South Florida has the highest number of incidents of identity theft in the country – my entire family is now at risk of having our identities stolen. So we now have to start the long, complicated, drawn-out process of requesting new Social Security numbers, and all the troubles that come with that.

West says Rep. Klein has “clearly crossed a line. Our lawyers are reviewing what legal action is available to my family.”

Character Assassination Part Of Dem Plan For Embattled Incumbents

From the Allen West Campaign:

“The Allen West campaign would like to take this opportunity to point out the duplicity of the Florida Democrat Party. All attempts to assassinate the character of Col. Allen West, an American soldier, are in consort with the national Party’s decision to personalize elections where incumbents are in peril. The problem for Democrats in general and Congressman Ron Klein in particular, is that if they want to continue to indulge in the luxury of racial politics when it comes to their leader, President Obama, then they are going to have answer this tough question. If attacks against President Obama’s policies are “racist” by the American people who disagree with them, are attacks against Col. West’s ideas, which mirror the conservative people of this country, “racist” as well?

Democrats had better be careful of their hypocrisy. The party of social engineering which has helped decimate the black community, the party of segregation and the party of the late Senator Robert Byrd of Ku Klux Klan fame, had better beware. It is unfair to castigate the opposition when the person is a liberal black American, unless the same rules apply to attacks against a conservative black American.

Rev.Jackson, Rev. Sharpton… we’re waiting for your arrival to demand equity for Col. Allen West. Something tells me we will be waiting a long time…”

The Hypocrisy Of The Left—Allen West Campaign

On Monday, Ron Klein launched his latest attempt at salvaging his fledging fundraising efforts. In an email to his shrinking pool of supporters, Klein outrageously claimed that Allen West has raised $2 million from people who have either been sympathetic to BP, proposed cuts to Medicare/Social Security, or are affiliated with corporations accused of wrongdoing.

With a complicit local left wing media at his back, Ron Klein and his political hacks have the freedom to make baseless assertions that the average American who supports our campaign “would leave our beaches in ruin, end Social Security and Medicare…”

Here are the facts:

  • Allen West has raised over $2 Million from nearly 26,000 individual contributions – including many of Klein’s former supporters. That’s about $80 on average per donation. Over 94% of our funds have come from individual contributions.
  • Ron Klein has received a vast majority of his contributions from PACs, unions, and other special interests. This includes at least $22,000 from trial lawyers, $10,000 from the SEIU, $30,000 from the Teamsters, and $11,000 from Fannie & Freddie.

In his desperate plea for more money to save his failing campaign, Klein tried to link Allen to BP through a March 2010 contribution from Congressman Joe Barton in Texas, and thousands of other donations from average Americans.

Here are the facts:

  • Allen West has never taken a dime from BP, has expressed his anger with BP’s inability to control its rig, and frustration with the Federal Government’s complete and utter failure in stemming the environmental disaster occurring off of Florida’s coasts.
  • Ron Klein received $1,500 from BP, has a former Chief of Staff who is now a lobbyist for BP, has been flip flopping on his position on offshore drilling, and has done absolutely nothing in his role as a United States Congressman to pressure the Obama Administration to get on top of this crisis.

Klein – a career politician and trial lawyer – says he is for the average American, yet has voted 98% of the time with Nancy Pelosi. He says he supports hard working citizens, yet he attacks and vilifies these very people for writing modest checks to his opponent. He says he is for Israel, yet he remains silent and actually defends the Obama Administration’s shameful browbeating of the Jewish State. He says he respects the veteran, yet he ruthlessly attacks and repeatedly calls ‘extremist’ a man who courageously and selflessly served his country for over 2 decades, serving in 3 different combat zones. Klein tries to link Allen to BP, yet he accepted and has refused to return $1,500 in donations from the oil giant. $1,500 may not be a lot of money to a career politician, but to the average Floridian, $1,500 is real money.

The hypocrisy is so thick you could slice it with a knife.

It has become crystal clear that a career in politics has distorted reality for Ron Klein. He is doing whatever it takes to run away from his record, and from the real problems facing South Florida. Under Ron Klein and Nancy Pelosi’s watch, Florida’s unemployment rate has climbed to a staggering 12.3% – much higher than the national average. When one drives down A1A or Federal Highway and sees empty house after empty house from Jupiter to Fort Lauderdale, it is a stark reminder of why Florida has the third highest foreclosure rate in the country. Ron Klein and his ultra-liberal base have set our country in a steep decline, and average Americans are fed up.

In the coming months, I can all but guarantee that you will see very little of Ron Klein as he continues to dodge his ultra liberal record. Rather, I expect a very negative campaign in which character assassination will be the method of choice for Klein and his cronies. But as continually demonstrated by Klein, he has miscalculated the American people, thus his tactics will continue to fail. The West Campaign will continue to run a campaign on the issues that South Floridians and all Americans care about – restoring our economy, protecting Americans, and bringing character and integrity back to Washington.

Of Lambs and Lions—Allen West

15 June 2010

Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Retired)

Of Lambs and Lions

“I do not fear an army of lions if they are led by a lamb. I do fear an army of sheep if they are led by a lion.” Alexander the Great

Greetings Wheels on the Road readers, fellow South Floridians, and indeed all Americans. It is time for our monthly political assessment and this one is rather personal. Last month we addressed what is at stake, and the response was the future of America. One of the factors affecting our Country right now relates to Alexander’s quote mentioned above.

Attorney General Eric Holder once lamented that America is a “nation of cowards”, that is far from the truth. The problem we have in America is that we are being led by lambs, by an effete ruling class elite. America is a nation of lions, warriors, but when we find ourselves being led by a cabal of weak, ineffective, and indecisive appeasers the result is evident.

Sure, the liberal progressives are dogged ideologues and tenacious poodles when it comes to nationalizing our production; healthcare, financial sector, energy sector, and automobile industry. They stand strong against the rule of law regarding illegal immigration. And there is no doubt no group will fight harder to redistribute wealth and turn America into a collective “balkanized” socialist Country.

However, what scares the liberals more than anything else is the “Warrior Class”. They abhor the men and women who find a commitment and conviction in believing in this Constitutional Republic and the principles which make America exceptional. This is a sentiment which over the past 30 days we witnessed being manifested from the highest office in our land, the President.

When Barack Hussein Obama made the decision to take a “vacation” back to Chicago rather than attend Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington National cemetery that was a complete disregard and disrespect to those who gave the “last full measure of devotion”. I know, those who suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome are frothing and recounting that Pres GW Bush missed an Arlington ceremony….but he was at Normandy, a very appropriate place to be.

But it was not just the missing Memorial Day, it was also the lack of any recognition of the 66th anniversary of D-Day. It was the failure to address Flag Day which was also the 235th birthday of the US Army. Lastly, Obama’s refusal for the second year in a row to attend the “Gold Star Family” events clearly telegraphs his regard for our military does not go beyond photo opportunities.

The malignant narcissism of the President, and the liberal progressives, is laser focused on the disrespect and the destruction of the American Warrior class. They detest anyone who has the courage of conviction and love of America, something which they find unconscionable.

It starts with a national security strategy which refuses to address the enemy of our Nation, islamic totalitarianism and radical islamic state sponsored terrorism. We have sheep who are so oblivious to the threats to our security that the Obama administation’s terrorism expert, John Brennan, stated that “terrorism is a state of mind and jihadism is a legitimate tenet of Islam”. When at the highest levels we project a recalcitrance to confront our enemy, you only embolden them.

When an enemy is emboldened, such as this one, they launch a “humanitarian aid” flotilla which is nothing more than a cover to supply a terrorist organization, Hamas. When you have a Sovereign State seek to protect itself, and even institute insidious rules of engagement, and yet is condemned for protecting its warriors, we are upside down……we are being led by sheep. Nothing pleasures wolves more than fresh lamb meat, and we are serving that up at every instance.

This seemingly is not just an American phenomenon, but a worldwide epidemic. North Korea sinks a South Korean naval vessel and we ask for an apology. The international community demands that Israel apologize and submit to an investigation.

We have created rules of engagement in Afghanistan which allows the enemy every opportunity to kill our men and women. We have considered such horrible ideas such as an award for “courageous restraint”. We even allow former Taliban members who have attacked, and maybe even killed, our troops to be released from detainment based upon a “pledge” signed by their fathers and tribal leaders.

Yet, we have our own Warriors such a Army 1LT Michael Behenna serving a 15 year prison sentence for killing a known Al Qaeda operative who attacked him. Worse however, is the fact that exculpatory evidence in his case was withheld by the Army prosecutors who also withheld a key witness. There in the military prison at Ft Leavenworth sit 10 Army Soldiers while Taliban fighters are being released. We just witnessed some of our finest Warriors, US Navy SEALS, having to endure a courts-martial because they “punched” a terrorist.

That is why I will be heading to Ft Leavenworth in September to rally for the release of our Soldiers so that they can be reunited with their families. Those families who willingly sacrificed their loved ones, believing that they could be severely wounded, or even killed….but never imprisoned for doing what we ask Warriors to do.

In the past 30 days we watched the House of Representatives so concerned about the military that they just could not wait, and voted to repeal “Dont Ask Dont Tell”. This was done against the counsel of the Service Chiefs who asked for an opportunity to allow the men and women in uniform to offer their suggestions and insights. No, it is more important to have the military accommodate behavior rather than respect the professionalism of those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen.

We have seen the President nominate someone for Supreme Court justice who attacked the Solomon Amendment, allowing ROTC activities on our college campuses. We are willing to allow an Islamic victory tribute to be erected at Ground Zero in New York City because we have leaders who just cannot find the courage to stand….sheep.

We have a running gun battle occuring on our southern border but we allowed a foreign leader to demean our laws and attack a Governor of a sovereign American State.

There has never been a more critical time for our Republic and yet we find the worse possible individuals in control for this time. We have a Nation of men and women who embrace victory and detest the stench of defeat. However, all we get is more speeches, talk, empty rhetoric, and never an action plan….at least not an action plan which is commensurate with the foundational principles of America.

I stated earlier that this subject is personal to me and that is because of my story from Iraq in 2003. Yes, I fired my service 9mm over the head of a detainee to ensure my men were protected. Yes, I was removed from command and fined $5000. Yes, I withstood the attacks from the liberal sheep and will continue to do so because I am part of the Warrior class. I retired with Honor and remain a respected member of that group of men and women who feel pride when the National Anthem is played, and tear up at Taps.

When I look at Pelosi, Frank, Weiner, Clyburn, Klein, and Obama I see lambs, certainly not leaders. I see mundane deliberators, not decisive people of character. This 2010 election cycle has the most Veterans running for office since WW II and there is a simple reason.

America will not survive as a Nation in a world of wolves being led by sheep, it will take Lions.

Steadfast and Loyal, LTC(R) A B West

Our Friends In Israel Need More Than Words From US—Allen West

Congressional Candidate Allen West has just released this statement addressing the situation in Israel:

Recent developments in the State of Israel are disturbing, and unfortunately predictable. Since 2009, the Obama Administration has shown an unprecedented disregard for the sovereignty of the State of Israel – America’s strongest ally in the world. Whether browbeating Israel for building homes in their rightful capitol, or disrespecting Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House, President Obama has clearly demonstrated that he is no friend of the Jewish State.

Liberals in Congress, including Ron Klein, have provided nothing but lip service while the rest of the world continues to condemn a nation’s right to defend itself against continued terror and aggression by Hamas – a terror organization whose very charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel – and its supporters. A blockade is a recognized and accepted means to mitigate specific threats from our enemies. This can be demonstrated by President Kennedy’s blockade in October of 1962 off the coast of Florida, as well as by President Obama’s call for a blockade of Iran. How would we react if these were U.S. Navy SEALs that were ruthlessly attacked?

In the days and weeks ahead, our friends in Israel – the only true and stable democracy in the Middle East – need more than words from America’s leaders. Above all, the Jewish State needs stronger representation in Congress and a solid voice that will not be afraid to stand up to the Obama Administration’s appeasement of Islamic Terrorism. As a Combat Veteran who has faced our common enemy, my commitment to Israel will rise above mere statements of support.”

What Is At Stake? Allen B. West

16 May 2010

Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Retired)

“What is at Stake?”

Greetings Wheels on the Road (WOTR) readers, fellow South Floridians, and indeed all Americans. It is time for our monthly political assessment, and do we have lots to assess.

I am writing from the home of my dear friend LtCol Neal Puckett (USMC, Ret) in Alexandria Va who just successfully defended US Navy SEAL Matthew McCabe. I have a week of evening meetings in DC and on station work in nearby Crystal City. After getting settled I took a nice late morning run through Alexandria and along the Potomac. As I raced along, my mind also raced along thinking about all that has recently occured, and the incredible ramifications.

The BP oil rig crisis was first to enter my thoughts, and my condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones. It has truly become what was characterized as a “ridiculous spectacle”. There is no reason why those we elect to oversee our Nation have no clue about deep water oil drilling emergency management procedures. Leadership is about anticipating, analyzing, and executing viable solutions, before the incident occurs; that is what we call vision. Leadership is not about the immature game of pointing fingers and laying blame. As well, leadership is not about saying “mea culpa” and giving up on what is a national security, economic, and jobs, issue for our Nation.

Our dear fearful leader President Obama fashioned himself as a reincarnation of President’s Lincoln and Roosevelt. I must remind him that after the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt delivered an address evidencing leadership, and vision. Furthermore, he did not look to blame, but wanted answers to prevent another such event. However, most importantly Roosevelt did not cower away, he thought of how this Nation could respond in kind…..which resulted in the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo.

That is leadership, that is American leadership.

Also, did you all realize that there was a catastrophic weather event in Nashville Tennessee? Hmm, funny, the President never visited the city nor publicly offered regards, something that has not gone unnoticed.

Did you all notice that we had a terrorist attack in New York City? Yes, in Times Square, there was a fella who was upset about losing his home to foreclosure and decided to act as a lone wolf and wanted to blow up just a couple of people… the media and the Obama Administration would love for us to believe. Another embarrassing moment for Attorney General Holder, Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, and the other cast members of “The Gang who cannot Think Straight”.

Just this past week, when queried before a Senate panel on radical Islam being an impetus behind the rash of domestic terrorist activity, Holder stated that “he was not comfortable” with that premise. This of course comes along with his desire to file a lawsuit against the State of Arizona for a law which he admited to not reading.

I will never forgive Holder for referring to our Country as a “nation of cowards”. But when I consider the inept and incompetent person which he is, well, I do have pity on him.

In the last month we have seen Greece explode in riots. This is obviously what happens when you allow people to retire at age 55 with 80% pensions, truly an entitlement class. When they were told that the government of Greece is bankrupt and will finally have to act fiscally responsible, hmmm, see what happens. Now, here we are in the US with debt in the trillions, we decide to lend Greece $1Trillion, which we had to borrow. And do not forget that we have 47% of Americans who do not pay federal income taxes but are being promised free everything….do you see a pattern or worse, a parallel?

Socialist economic theory has never been successful, why do the liberal intellectual elites believe they can make it so in America? Our success in 233 years has been based upon a work ethic and free market principles, how long before what is happening in Europe, and with the Euro, comes to America?

Economics 101, revenues increase when taxation is lightest, will someone please inform the occupants of the White House and Capitol Hill that immutable maxim. Also, get the CBO a new calculator since somehow they miscalculated the Healthcare law costs by some $250 Billion.

Speaking of miscalculation, the latest from Afghanistan is that the leadership has proposed a new medal, an award for “Courageous Restraint”. Yes, you heard me right, the military leadership in Afghanistan is considering awarding combat troops for “NOT FIRING BACK”. There have been some fairly insidious plans proposed in the history of warfare, but never an award for Warriors to not fight. I know, the liberal intellectual elites are going to call me brutish and mean. The leadership proposing this inane action is going to say, “it is about protecting the Afghan civilians”. My retort is simple, and comes from two opposing Civil War Generals; General Wm T Sherman, “War is hell” and Cavalry General N Bedford Forest, “War is about fighting, and fighting means killing”.

If we do not want our Men and Women in combat to fight and kill the enemy, I say we retrograde from Afghanistan. The promotion of hesitation in combat by senior military leaders means that more of our American treasure will lose their lives and be forever maimed. I have been in a firefight, it is about gaining and maintaining the initiative, not restraint.

And speaking of restraint, how many Senators will show restraint and not vote to confirm Elena Kagan? Actually, it is not about restraint, it is about moral courage, ok, I just answered my own question. If I were sitting there in the US Senate I could tell you right now what my vote would be, No. No to anyone who would file an amicus brief challenging the Solomon Amendment which allows ROTC recruiting on college campuses. Ms Kagan made the cowardly decision to not confront the Clinton administration or the Congress, but rather evidenced her anti-military sentiments. She and her compatriots were soundly defeated 8-0 by the Supreme Court, however, if she were to be on the bench of our Nation highest court and same case came before her……..

Soon we will need Justices who make decisions for our Constitutional Republic and its borders, language, and culture, no more activist judges in our federal court systems. How would judges rule in the case of five young Americans who were suspended from school for wearing US flags on their shirts?

Just for clarification, Cinco de Mayo recognizes the victory of the Mexican milita against the French at the Battle of Puebla, 1862. Mexico actually gained its independence on 16 September 1821. Cinco de Mayo is not even a national Mexican celebration, just a regional one, therefore the premise of suspending these young men is false. This incident combined with the support to disregard our borders and laws is very disconcerting.

Lastly, I addressed the true “party of political intimidation” last month, the Democrat party. And it did not take them one month to prove me right, and personally as well. Ron Klein decided to attack one of our campaign volunteers who just happens to work for a local news station. His subversive, immature, and petulant actions resulted in a very professional person to be confronted at her workplace, and publicly humiliated by the Palm Beach Post. As well, there has sprung up a “No West FL-22 Blog” in South Florida along with a “No West FL-22 Twitter” account. There are a couple of interesting twitter comments posted, “November is hunting season and there is no bag limit”, which is followed by this sent out 13 May at 8:30am, “I will skin you personally West”.

Funny, we did submit a police report but do you think it will get any attention. Do you think the mainstream media will report this twitter post?

What is at stake is America……how many more months can we take like this past 30 days. America is being led into a “Hurt Locker”.

Steadfast and Loyal, LTC A B West

Allen West Expresses Condolences To Haitian People

US Congressional candidate Allen B. West expressed his condolences to the Haitian people today.

West said, “It is with the highest degree of sincerity of heart that I extend my condolences to the people of Haiti, as well as to those here in the US who have been affected.

West’s statement continued:

I have many a close association with members of the American Haitian community here in South Florida. The loss of life in such a tragic manner is horrendous and we must all do what we can to alleviate the pain and suffering of the people of Haiti.

I also want to commend the Men and Women of our Armed Forces who always make the transition from Warrior to benevolent protector in times of natural disaster. We all remember their service to the people of Indonesia after the tsunami and the people of Pakistan after the earthquake there. I ask that the people of Haiti welcome those who are truly the best America has to offer and not allow roving gangs to turn against those who seek to provide comfort, stability, and relief… as we saw in Somalia.

The small Nation of Haiti, part of the greater island of Hispaniola, has an incredible history. Haiti declared its independence on 1 Jan 1804 becoming the first independent Nation in Latin America. Haiti is the first post-colonial independent black led Nation in the world, and the only Nation whose independence was gained as part of a successful slave rebellion. Haiti is the only predominantly Francophone independent Nation in the Americas. Lastly, it is one of only two independent Nations, Canada the other, that designates French as an official language.

The revolution which occurred in Haiti was inspired by the French Revolution, which was inspired by the American Revolution. It was a revolution focused on freeing the indomitable human will.

Haiti must now be freed again. It must be freed from the enslavement that has resulted in being the poorest Nation in the Americas… one of the poorest and least developed in the world. It is an enslavement which has produced devastating illiteracy. It is an enslavement which has created a dependency whereby 30-40% of its government budget comes from foreign aid… it is an enslavement that has continually produced despots and failed leadership.

As we work to restore Haiti, the short term focus is indeed to provide relief and system infrastructure repair. However, in the long term let us be committed to rebuilding not just buildings, but the independent human will for which Haiti first sought freedom. Let our investment in Haiti be not just about giving them hammocks, but ladders in order to climb to greater achievement and provide a viable safety net when necessary.

I say let this earthquake result in the catalyst to recommit Haiti to a second Independence Day, 206 years after their first. As a future US Congressman that is my commitment to the people of Haiti, empowerment, not enslavement.

I ask, will the people of Haiti and American Haitians share that vision with me?

Faithful and True,

Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Ret.)
