U.K. Military Equipment Found In Hezbollah Hideout

British officials are investigating Israeli claims that they have found U.K. manufactured military gear in a Hezbollah hideout:

Times Online—AN URGENT investigation was launched last night after Israel accused Britain of indirectly supplying Hezbollah terrorists with military night-vision equipment that helped them to target Israeli soldiers in Lebanon.

The equipment was found by Israeli troops in Hezbollah command bunkers in southern Lebanon. Each set was stamped “made in Britain”. …

Reuters Withdraws All Photographs Taken By Adnan Hajj

Reuters has withdrawn all photographs by Adnan Hajj—a Lebanese freelance photographer—after the blogosphere uncovered the fact that some of his photographs depicting the current conflict in Lebanon had been doctored:

Reuters—Reuters withdrew all 920 photographs by a freelance Lebanese photographer from its database on Monday after an urgent review of his work showed he had altered two images from the conflict between Israel and the armed group Hizbollah.

Global Picture Editor Tom Szlukovenyi called the measure precautionary but said the fact that two of the images by photographer Adnan Hajj had been manipulated undermined trust in his entire body of work.

“There is no graver breach of Reuters standards for our photographers than the deliberate manipulation of an image,” Szlukovenyi said in a statement.

“Reuters has zero tolerance for any doctoring of pictures and constantly reminds its photographers, both staff and freelance, of this strict and unalterable policy.” …

Technical Data May Shed Light On Qana Photographs Controversy

A Jihad Watch reader has written an open letter asking AP, Reuters, and AFP to provide technical data that may settle the Qana Photographs controversy:

Jihad Watch—The Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France-Presse all distributed photos of which questions have been asked relative to the time shot. What Lyon of AP does not address, is that the exact time of digital capture is recorded along with the image. This EXIF information cannot be altered, and would give accurate timings as to the sequence of all photos released.

We urge AFP, AP, and Reuters to make available to this website a small JPEG file, with all EXIF data attached, of each of the photos analyzed on the various websites that have raised this issue. A list will be provided if they are not already known. Sensitive IPTC data may be removed, if any responding agency wishes. The EXIF is the only important data.

The actual capture times, between photos of all agencies, would then be made a public record — chips falling where they may. …

Looks like it’s come clean time for AP, Reuters, and AFP.

U.S. Urging Israel To Give Up Shebaa Farms Region?

I heard on FOX News last night that the United States wants Israel to table the Shebaa farms region in order to forge some sort of ceasefire. Israel supposedly gets Hezbollah out of its hair and Lebanon gets some land back.

Typical peace initiative huh? Israel, give up this, give up that; it’s the only way we’ll have peace, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, right. Is it just me, or do you also have the feeling that the World Community just wants the Jews to go away? Well, get over it, because it ain’t happening. The Jews and that rock-strewn piece of land are protected by the hand of God. I ain’t saying they’re perfect people; none of us are, that’s for sure. But they are God’s chosen people.

Oh yeah, al-Zawahiri’s calling for yet another holy war against Israel. Another day in a lost world.

Ambush In Bint Jbeil

Fierce fighting erupted when Hezbollah terrorists ambushed the Golani Brigade in the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil:

INN—The Golani Brigade soldiers were ambushed at approximately 5:00 o’clock Wednesday morning (Tuesday 10:00 pm EDT) by Hizbullah terrorists in the town which is often referred to as the ‘Hizbullah capital’ in south Lebanon.

Infantry divisions, tank and armored corps as well as air support by IAF fighter pilots worked together to try to clean out the nest of terrorists entrenched in Bint Jbeil. Just a day earlier, the IDF had said the town was under Israeli control.

A total of 24 soldiers were wounded in the battle, according to Army Radio. It was the fiercest clash since the beginning of the war two weeks ago due to the number of casualties and the duration of the battle, which continued into the night on Wednesday. Three soldiers were seriously injured in the clashes, six sustained moderate wounds and 15 were lightly injured.

Terrorists also shot at combat medics, preventing them from evacuating the injured for more than six hours. Rescue personnel carried wounded soldiers off the battlefield under heavy fire, bringing them to the four combat helicopters that flew the wounded soldiers to safety as heavy fighting continued on the ground. …

Bush To Hezbollah: Stop This S – – –

An interesting aside between Prime Minister Tony Blair and President Bush occurred at the G8 Luncheon. President Bush, unaware that the microphones were live, told the Prime Minister, “See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this s – – – and it’s over.”
